Staffbot serverwarning watch addition

Description

Mr.Arrogant is a bot that was originally made to kick idle players from subarena's. Mr.Arrogant has a feature to relay any chat (pub/team/arena/serv.errors) messages it sees to the chat it's on. This feature currently is only used to view the server errors while the feature of kicking idlers isn't used at all.

The objectives of this request are:

  • Let the bot enter the smod chat channel as its first and the bot chat channel as its second.
  • Move the server-warning watch from Mr.arrogant to Staffbot
  • Move the *log watch for *kill and *shutup from Mr.arrogant to Staffbot

What purpose does the bot joining bot chat have? Manipulation of it's location and/or reporting of server errors to it? I don't think so. Bot chat is open to public and it should not be left in such an exposed place without sufficient cause or limitation to it's controls.

No problem with error reporting and logging via StaffBot PM. It would provide continuity during biller outages and alerts while alt-tabbed. In the same breath, would there be a possibility for StaffBot to be able to keep an extended logfile to view/(output to site) of these logged commands and errors? If that could be done it would be absolutely golden!

It's not certain at this time what messages are send on the bot chat channel.
Nonetheless, it certainly won't be of any kind that will be too sensitive to voice in a channel other then the staff chat channels.

I don't really understand what you mean by error reporting and logging via StaffBot PM?
Staffbot currently already keeps an extended logfile of all the commands it records, while Mr. Arrogant doesn't log anything at all.
Getting these logs on the website would be quite alot of hassle (considering the amount of data) while I don't really see the purpose of this?

PM to whom, Rudy? All Smod+ online? StaffBot only sends chat messages to notify that it processing the server log. It never sends confidential information.

Never mind. I misinterpreted the goal here. I gathered from the ticket description that the objective was to transfer the method in which the server errors are output be moved from aliasing chat, to staffbot in the form of private PM notification to highmod+. I then assumed that given such a setup, we might be able to have StaffBot log all the generated server warnings so that they could be looked up over a day later. Useful particularly for me in isolating suspect players that highmods failed to notice at the time the server errors were first generated. But I see you're just speaking of making Gammabot3 redundant and staffbot relaying the errors instead. Pretend I said nothing.
