Description

If a lag spike is detected, a player is sent to spectator mode for an automatic 2 minutes. Seems simple enough. I think this scheme is in place in Extreme Games duel. It shouldn't keep players out who have steady high lag, but target the lag hackers in a way that is fair and requires no human intervention. 2 minute penalty cannot be bypassed by simply closing and reopening the client.

Lag hacking seems to have worsened significantly in the last few weeks in the pubs. It is demoralizing to be robbed of a kill you know you earned in fair play. It encourages other players to either cheat also or leave. Bad for the game.

**More advanced version: Correlate lag spike detection with collision detection of L3 bullets, bombs and mines. If a lag spike is detected within 0.5s of one of those collisions, it is very likely a cheat. Not sure if this can be done because you'd be watching collision from one player's projectile while watching another player's lag.
