Fix SBBot

Reported by: Maverick Assigned to:

Description

The sbbot got deleted because it was thought it wasn't used. (changeset:1385) Left_Eye today requested the bot so I had to recover it.

This bot still gives the usual compilation errors because of a few missing files. These files need to be recreated or the referring files need to be changed.

I can't remember what the differences are with SBBot vs. Strikeballbot, the latter of which I was requisitioned to code but which was never used — maybe due to lack of testing, some sort of major bug, etc. The structuring was all right, though.

From what I remember none of the original code was used for the second bot, so it just went to waste. Perhaps if Strikeballbot will never be used it should be removed?

  • resolution set to fixed.

Fixed by deleting an unused file which caused compilation errors. See changeset:1434 .

As Left_Eye stated above either SBBot or strikeballbot should be removed.

As this sort of thing bothers me, I have to ask: where did Left_Eye state this? I hate being redundant, so I apologize if this was the case. That is, of course I would not have asked.

We now have a /bots/SBBot and a /bots/strikeballbot. These bots serve the same purpose: hosting strikeball.

Now Left_Eye (in the 2nd comment, posted as anynomous) responds to this problem (having SBBot and strikeballbot) the following:

Ah! Sorry, I forgot to log in. That anonymous comment was actually me (dugwyler). I was wondering what others thought about the idea. It would be a shame to remove either, as both are fairly complex, but it probably needs to be done.

Oh right, I assumed it was Left_Eye :/ Yes one of the two should be removed.
