SSC TW-Dev Zone is offline, use BlueT Abnormal: Currently we have our dev zone offline, we all should use blueT Abnormal zone to test our bots. If you need any info how to get online there, ask me or Dezmond ingame! Good luck, botdevs!

Dexter | 10th july 2010 13:38 New Dev Zone
Since our currently Development Zone (SSCV) has problems with billing server, we'll be using a new development zone, requested by Dezmond to L.C.: "BlueT Abnormal Zone". It is online and working, so you can test your bots there already and code a lot! To get zone's info, pm me or Dezmond / Records ingame. Thanks Dez!

Developers List
The developer list is more clear now, so you can see who are the actual members. I'd like to make sure that the members did not get axed, it was just a clean to show who are the bot-dev members in each "level". Some old members are now in the honor level of contribution to TWCore. If anyone would like to join (or join back) the development team, let me know and you'll be welcome!

New forums
The current forum running at twcore.org is not the easiest to use, hard to manage and currently doesn't work. Because of this, I've requested a TWCore forum to be made over at SSForum.
The forums links will change soon to http://forums.twcore.org (which redirects to the correct URL at SSForum.net).
Meanwhile, the current forum remains read-only for archive purposes. Maybe the topics will be moved over to SSForum but I'm not sure about that yet.

Anonymous permissions
Now that the recently installed SpamFilter plugin is working well, I've modified the permissions of anonymous users to allow them to add comments to tickets, edit and create wiki pages.

I've also allowed anonymous users to create topics in the forum and add replies to topics but unfortunately the forum still gives error messages. I'm still working on fixing it. (It's not like it's used that much anyway.)

SQLConnectionPool fix
After some time of instability of TWCore, I've finally fixed the final problem causing the instability:
Dock> pointed out that TWCore has a database connection leak causing the database to crash (while having over 600 idle connections). I've investigated and after some digging I found out what was causing it.
Unfortunately now somehow another problem arised with querying the database which had to be fixed fast. After finally fixing this, I think I fixed all the instability fixes.

SpamFilter
TWCore.org has recently been hit with quite some tickets advertising malicious websites. (They do this to get the website higher up in the Google search results.) To battle this, I've installed the SpamFilter plugin. Hopefully, this nuisance is left for the past.

Population statistics?
To end this update - a small teaser; I'm working on the new population statistics using cacti. Maybe we'll have some nice population statistics again!

Subversion / Development statistics
I've finally come around to generating Subversion statistics using StatSVN on the TWCore Subversion repository.

The statistics can be viewed on www.twcore.org/svnstats.

It got some nice statistics and facts about the development of TWCore:

I'm planning on generating these statistics automatically every week.

PS. The peak and dip you see around January 2007 in the Lines of Code graph is caused by updating and removing the javadoc files that were in the repository.
